My name is Jo’nae Johnson, and on August 8, 2024, my life changed forever. I was struck by a car going over 30 mph as I was leaving work. I was rushed to the hospital, revived multiple times, and underwent several surgeries as doctors fought to keep me alive. To help my body and mind heal, I was placed in a medically induced coma.
I was diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and one doctor said it would be a surprise if I woke up soon. But after weeks of prayers from my family and friends, I chose to return to this world. Since then, I’ve been fighting to reclaim my place—by going to college, spending time with loved ones, and launching this foundation.
This story isn’t meant to make you feel sorry for me. It’s meant to inspire, encourage, and offer hope to you and your family. If you’re facing something similar, know this: you are not alone. Let’s come together, share our stories, and lift each other.
